OUR STORY

We are a sustainable Portuguese brand, creating handmade Nordic Design inspired Wood Products. Based in a small town, near Nazaré, Portugal.
​AJOPUU • is a Finnish word that by definition means driftwood •
Wood floating in the sea or left on the beach by the action of the waves.
​We draw inspiration from the gorgeous nature that surrounds us, combining  it at the same time with our Nordic heritage. Our designs are a marriage between timeless clean & elegant lines with a natural & organic feeling.

Meet the Makers

We're Aida (Designer & Photographer) and Nico (Carpenter & Boat Builder) — a young family of creatives passionate about nature and design. 

One Portuguese and the other Finnish, we aim to create new design and lifestyle stories that support environmental changes, in our community. 

We both grew up with the ocean and the forest around us - as our safe place to reconnect. Therefore, we were always motivated to create a project that combines both our passions. A design project that aims and commits to protect the planet.

Using natural materials and following a slow production/creation philosophy.
